The new 5 Steuer PS car with its power increased to 15 hp appeared shortly before the outbreak of the First World War. The 5/15 PS became one of the most popular cars of its era because it delivered perfectly on the requirements of being reliable, offering good performance and versatile uses along with low acquisition and operating costs. The vehicle was also used by the Army Administration for its orderly duties and fortress service. From 1921, the 5/15 PS became the cornerstone of post-war automotive production at NSU.
